“Don’t Buy a Dog, Adopt One” was born from a deeply personal conviction. Over the years, I’ve rescued and adopted many dogs from the streets and shelters, including several who had been injured or even amputated after accidents. Despite their scars, their love has always been just as pure, loyal, and unconditional as that of any pedigree dog.
This song is my tribute to them, to the countless “Buddys,” “Lunas,” and “Maxes” out there, waiting for someone to see their worth beyond appearances. It’s also a reminder that love cannot be bought, only shared.
The story of this song is closely tied to one of my own rescues, a severely injured stray I adopted after we managed to save her life. Her story is featured in this short video on YouTube. She later became the inspiration behind Nalà, one of the recurring characters in the JesusBYS universe, who you can also see in this video.
Through this song, I wanted to show that every wag, every bark, every rescued life is an act of love ; and that in choosing compassion, we walk closer to Jesus Himself.

Aww, I don’t know why, but this song made me think of my puppy Stitch who passed away in 2015 🐶💔. He was my last little buddy, and after him, I didn’t want another. This song really touched my heart, it’s a powerfull reminder of how much love our furry friends bring into our lives ❤️.
